I’m almost done putting together the six folders for the applications to request authorization from the government to use my credit card in San Francisco next month, and to purchase my yearly quota of $500 in cash. Now all that’s left to do is print three copies of two forms that I forgot to print, and can’t get until 3 pm, print the labels for the separators of each folder, print the labels with the page numbers of every document in them (application form, copies of the plane tickets, national ID card, passport, US tourist visa, invoices, etc.), make sure all the labels have the correct text on them, are in the correct position, and that the contents are in the correct order, and I should be good to go file them at the bank. After that, it’s only a matter of hoping my application isn’t rejected for some small technicality, that the authorization is approved (and approved in time for the trip), and that the authorization isn’t revoked arbitrarily in the middle of the trip, like it happened to my mom last week. Isn’t bureaucracy wonderful?
